Birds of Plasticine

Over the course of January, I experimented a little with colourful plasticine! The result was six of my favourite birds, each of which fit onto the palm of my hand.

My very first sculpture was a cardinal. Here, I simply used two colours.
Next, I tried something more complicated: a Blue Jay, with its vivid blue and remarkable patterns.
Baltimore Oriole
Long-tailed Duck
Saw-whet Owl
My last one was a loon. This one definitely tested my patience. The checkerboard back took ages, and the entire bird represents about three hours of work. Phew!
